State Cross Country

Gregg Triumphs at State
By Krissy Boxell

For the third consecutive year, Mychelle Gregg returned to the state cross country meet on Saturday, November 11th determined to place within the top ten runners. Gregg reached her goal and was the 10th runner to cross the finish line. She ran her best time all year, 12:01.10, which is also her best time on the state course. Placing in the Top 10 puts Gregg on the All-State Cross Country Team. In the future, Gregg is considering running cross country at the college level.

Following shortly after was Alex Huerta in 34th with a time of 17:47. Salvador Sandoval ended in 52nd with a time of 18:10, Isaiah Boxell in 70th with a time of 18:33, Landon Hendrix in 72nd with a time of 18:35, Zach Hendrix in 79th with a time of 18:48 and Joseph Lockhart in 101st with a time of 19:50. The team placed 7th overall.

The Cross Country season wrap-up will be included in the Ponder High Monthly Roar print edition this Friday, November 17th.
